Plan
What I Currently Do for CA:
CAU::Class Delivery Lecturer
CAU::Testing Center
Member Since:
Feb. 2005
Thought for the Day:
Ego is the great Logic Killer
Personal Mission:
The following is an excerpt from my original application to the Brigade:
"My reasoning for joining CAU is really a combination of factors. Foremost, I believe in science for science's sake and find that this attitude is best cultured in an academic setting. Secondly, I believe those with knowledge have a social responsibility to ensure that said knowledge is 'correctly' disseminated. Again, academia provides a suitable setting in which others with the maturity and desire to handle said information can be readily identified. Lastly, I have very personal, strong views of how knowledge should be managed- particularly in an information security setting. CAU provides a platform from which (as well as within) to share these views, to grow them as new information is accumulated from other CA sources, and to continue to challenge my own perceptions in an attempt to better serve those around me.
I hold a Master of Science in Network Security (I graduated summa cum laude) and a double Bachelor degree in English and Biology. I currently work in the IT theatre as an InfoSec and Network Architect with a proven and solid track record. Theory (in any of the above fields) is my biggest strength, although I am equally versed in applied research and development, strategic implementation of technology, and various aspects of management therein."
That said, allow me to be clear on one point in particular:
I did not join CA/CAU to win a popularity contest. I joined simply to share my views and opinions with like-minded, mature individuals and have them perform likewise. Nothing more.
I am quite aware that I can, at times, come across as unapproachable and/or ruthless. Allow me to say this; I am very approachable. And if I appear ruthless it is only due to my own intolerance for complacency and incompetence. I am not here to see some Machiavellian scheme to some irrational end. Rather, I joined to share and to be shared with.
'nuff said.
Cheers,
<0
Personal Vision
1. To deliver intellectually stimulating material to CA members via CAU Class Delivery in order to generate meaningful discussion and thought.
2. To mentally challenge CA members in order to generate renewed growth both as individuals and as a community.
3. To develop short and long-term strategic goals for CAU in order to expand University appeal and value to the CA community at large.
