Report from SAS, February 2006.
This last month has been a rather busy one for some SAS divisions and projects. Here's a short summary of the latest events involving CyberArmy Services and Support.

New zZine Website
After a few months spent on developing, configuring, and porting (almost) all of the content, zZine Magazine recently opened its new website to the public. As previously announced the new site is currently in beta: there are still a few bugs to work out and the design is only temporary, but other than that it's fully functional. It features, among other things, user registrations, a newsletter system, and a rock-solid administration and editing back end, powered by Drupal CMS.

zZine Podcasting about to (re)launch
We're currently in the process of re-launching our podcasting project, which is now managed by Gisterogue. Although we still need more active contributors, Gisterogue has everything set up to produce more amazing podcasts like the ones we all liked. The new podcasts will cover IT news, humor and music. We're also planning to give other CA brigades some space to advertise their own projects and initiatives. For further information, please contact Gisterogue, and while you're waiting for the new podcasts, you can still listen to the old ones, if you haven't already!

New items available in CA Store
A few weeks ago people started discussing an important issue concerning the items for sale in CyberArmy's CafePress online store: all the items listed for sale displayed a CyberArmy logo, but not the original one, i.e. the one used on the actual CyberArmy.net website. The main problem was that the logo was donated a long time ago by a CA member, and nobody ever tried to reproduce it. Fortunately for us, Gisterogue succeeded in re-creating a CyberArmy logo which is very close to the original one, and new items are now available featuring it.

Looking for more SAS projects and project leaders
SAS is currently planning to start more projects and everyone is more than welcome to propose ideas and suggestions about some new service SAS could offer to CyberArmy members. Currently icklenewt's division, CyberArmy User Projects and Development, is in charge of managing the creation and administration of new SAS projects. If you have any interesting ideas and you want to share them with us, please contact icklenewt.
