Hi, all. :)
LtKers. Psike and mystique666 made the recommendation that the general CA populace would like more information handed down about what's going on with the staff forum.

Staff Digest: Week of Nov. 10-16, 2002
This week was a busy one for the CA staff. The following summarizes the major issues discussed/resolved on the forum:
1. Forum guidelines -- Generals DigitalDemon and Shepherd have drafted a document detailing the forum guidelines. This provides members with information regarding what is and is not acceptable behaviour on the forums, what each forum is to be used for, and what the consequences are for disrupting the forums. This should help eliminate much ambiguity about Moderation's role, and help all members to enjoy their time spent on the forums. These guidelines can be viewed here: http://www.cyberarmy.com/help/forumguideline.html
Staff would also like to thank LtKer.'s elm & blackflag, and Ker. highwaystar, as all three were a big help working up the guidelines. Thanks, guys!
2. Missions scripts making progress -- Vice-CinC. wa1800z is making serious headway with the CA mission scripts. The new scripts support features such as queueing missions (you will no longer have a very narrow window to jump in and propose your mission right after one is accepted) and an improved scoring system (each mission starts out with a certain number of points to prevent a single trooper from voting 'no' and causing the mission to fail). Way to go, wa1800z! :)
3. Homeland Retired -- Homeland was officially retired from Cyberarmy this week. If there is data from your old Homeland account that you would like back, simply notify CinC Chawmp (chawmp@cyberarmy.com) and we will gladly return it to you. General Goliath has been kind enough to offer CyberArmy members FREE 2MB webhosting plans under his Blockhouse Hosting company in its place. More information can be obtained here: http://blockhouse.zzine.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=24&page=1
4. Offensive Nicknames issue -- An e-mail by one of our members prompted the discussion on what to do in the event of someone using an offensive nickname on the site. After much deliberation it was decided that unless the nickname was blatantly offensive, or if the person's attitude reflected an intent to purposely offend people, Staff would not intervene. The person with the offensive nickname was respectful enough to change it of his own volition after being asked by the member. Thank you, individual. :)
5. New brigade on the horizon? -- Former CinC pengo is planning to start a new brigade in a few months which centers around building a browser plugin to use distributed peer-to-peer techniques to create an "undernet" of sorts which could contain domains and pages from anyone, completely uncensored and unaffected by Internet attacks. This project would be similar to the Freenet Project: http://freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/twiki/view/Main/WebHome
6. CA "hits" a new record -- On November 11, CyberArmy hit a new record of 493,448 hits in one day.
Crazy! ;)
