Since Mar. Snarkles is super busy with r/l work, I've taken the liberty of compiling the Staff Digest this month. That's why it's a little late. :) Here's a run-down of what's been going on at the CA staff level the past month. :)

Morale is now a Top Level Brigade

After discussions by the Exec Staff, it has been decided to move Morale out of CA-SAS and establish it as a Top Level Brigade under the leadership of Gen. Phydeau. While CA-SAS and Morale have worked closely together in the past, it was decided that the Missions of these groups differed enough to warrant this move. Please lend your support and help as you can in this transition.

Blockhouse Update

Blockhouse hosting is working on incorporating a technical support expert system named Tobi to assist with 24 hour technical support. Tobi already has answers for a lot of questions, but is still being worked on to provide greater support to Blockhouse customers. Take a look and play with the system and let us know if you encounter any problems.

CA Manifesto Project

Ker. elm is the lead manager of this project. We've asked him to work on completing this project and in return, he has asked for assistance from you. Please respond to his post if you'd like to contribute.

Promotion Guidelines Change, slightly

A decision has been reached to enable each of the Brigade Commanders to enact promotions, themselves, up to the level of Captain (all promotions to Major and above will still be handled by the Promotions Council). This not only allows Brigade Commanders to better manage their lower level promotions, but also helps alleviate some of the day-to-day duties that are keeping the Brigade Coordinators from solving some of the larger brigade issues as a whole. The process will be transparent to CA Members with the exception of very specific guidelines being developed by each Brigade Commander and quicker responses to promotion requests.

Internetwork Fizzer Task Force Forum Added

In response to the Fizzer Worm, hundreds of IRC networks have joined together to defeat this threat. The Internetwork Fizzer Task Force Forum has been added in order to share information and work on developing appropriate measures to protect our IRC resources.

Morale Guidelines and Procedures

Gen. Phydeau has compiled and released the Morale Guidelines and Procedures. This is a comprehensive document describing Morales Mission, directive, recruiting guidelines, and training procedures.

CA & NGSEC Partnership

CA & NGSEC established a partnership in December 2002. As part of that partnership, Ret. CinC MyYowler and Gen 51 have been selected to take the NGSEC Certification Exam. This is a very difficult exam in which 24 hours is given to the individual to complete.

In addition, below are some official figures on impressions/clicks for the past 5 months based on our partnership.

Referrers: (from CA to NGSEC)

Kernels adtrace, condor191, and inspectorgadget completed the final phase of their Staff Training and were accepted onto Staff. These guys are very active in the community and we know they'll be great Staff Members.

New Staff in Training Nominee

LtKer. elybis of OSI has completed Phase I of the Staff Training Program. He's got a lot of ahead of him, but he's doing great so far and we're sure he'll do fine.
