Bill Gates, one of the top four richest people in the world, has built the company up to a massive corporation in just a few decades. But its not stopping at computers anymore, Mr. Gates and his people are now getting into the gaming business as well as staying with computer OSs, tools, servers, and other software.
The Microsoft company is mostly responsible for the X-Box console and the new X-Box360. Over the past two decades, Microsoft Windows products have evolved from a single, one-size-fits-all desktop operating system into a diverse family of operating systems and mobile technologies. Today, Windows products help people worldwide achieve their potential at work, home, and just about anyplace in between. From Windows3X in 1990, NT in 1993, Windows95 and Windows98 to ME, 2000Professional, to Windows XP today, all of these have halped to build up this great company, but that is only the beginning.
Some of the technologies for our computers that Microsoft has given us are Windows Media Player, DirectX, and Internet Explorer from Version 1.0 to Version 6 in 2001. Windows Movie Maker can be included in these great technologies for the high tech folks that may have put all of their family movies on one disc or something close to that.
Next in line is the Windows Server Products, helping businesses to build an integrated and flexible computing infrastructure. Starting in 1993 with WindowsNT Advanced Server 3.1 and ending in 1995 with Version 3.51. In 1996 Version 4.0 was released and the following year the enterprise edition was put out. After a few more versions and a couple more releases, the server products stopped coming along in 2003 with two great items: Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server Systems.
Microsoft offers any spyware detection programs and security for the Windows operating system as well as updates, support and many other things. Moving away from the PC side of Microsoft, let's take a look at the leap into gaming that Microsoft has made. For years Microsoft has put out games for the PC like Age of Empires and many others, but when Microsoft decided to make a whole new console, many people were only semi-surprised. The X-Box is a powerhouse of gaming made to compete with Sony and their Playstation. The xbox sold out of stores on the first release and the release of the 360. I personally think that if Microsoft went to total gaming then they would clear out the competition. Many popular games have been made for the consoles and it would seem that more companies would want to get their games in to sell more. This is a great business of the future.
