I'm not sure if snarkles wanted us to follow this definition to the tee, but this is a far more complicated problem than most think. The transformation is based on sounds and not just letters. So you have to take things like silent 'h's into consideration when trying to code this. I'm going to be looking more into the linguistics of the English language, and see if we can code it somehow, basing our logic on certain letter combinations (dipthongs and what not) that are considered "vowel sounds."

I was actually pondering this particular problem last night. We could extend the user options to include hyphenation and the different "dialects;" that's if we want to follow the Wikipedia definition above.
