You're going to want to familiarize yourself with TCP/IP so that you know what these tools are supposed to do. You're going to need to know a thing or two about networking before the documentation to some of these tools will make any sense to you. Read these topics and post back with any questions you have. There might be a quick and dirty tutorial out there, but those will only take you so far.
