The Gates foundation has done some great work and made some really positive steps, also, to be honest, the guy is the most successful in the world, i'm suprised its taken them this long.

Success is subjective mr. goldfish :-)
but yeah i know what you mean.
Also, yes I fully agree, Gates has made outstanding contributions to charity in 3rd world development and things like the cambridge program. If it were anyone else that did this they would recieve the same honour (or be cannonised by some pope or something if they were going that direction, heh)
If it were up to me, he wouldn't have been the first choice that leapt to mind, but i can see the logic behind it and it makes sense to me.

He doesnt even get the cool part of getting to use "Sir" because:
1.) he's not a citizen of the UK
2.) the US constitution forbids any US citizen from accepting a foreign title without the express approval of congress
adding "KOBE" onto the end of your name just isnt as cool as the "Sir" at the beginning would be
