to find 'free' sheet music. I tried looking for loads of piano sheet music but found that I would have to pay for it.

What I did was download the song, listen to the notes and write them down manually. (This is for piano)

If you want some free tabs, a cheeky way of doing it is getting demos of guitar programs and theres a possibility that theres some on there you can 'borrow' then delete the demo.
