Alright so I put my system in hibernate when I left for work. When I got back home and turned it on it gave me two options. 1 to delete some file I can't remember what it was* and 2 boot windows normally. So I did option 2 twice and it just looped back to the same screen and then I deleted the file. Windows started to load and then I put in Call of Duty 4 :) and while loading a level it froze. So I restarted the computer and I was using the computer for a while and then it froze again. So now I used the nvidia stability program to see whats up. I first did all the options which were cpu, hdd, video card, pcix slot, memory, and something else. It froze while doing it so I did it one by one starting with cpu then video then pcix port and then hdd. It didn't freeze on the others but the hdd!!! I did go into safe mode and run avg anti virus. Everything checked out. No freezes during that process. I don't understand how I could get into safe mode and nothing happen. I'm thinking it could be something thats hanging up in regular settings. I dont want to reinstall windows unless I really have to. I going to end up putting linux on the other hdd I have just so that I can use the computer. I dont wanna deal with the install, drivers, call in to microsoft, and stuff all over again.

I would suggest to right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Event viewer -> System
This will provide all the system errors on your computer recently. If you happen to remember the time or if you can get it to happen again recheck the system log for the error. If you happen to see the error there go to eventid.net and check the details and of course post it here. :)
If you computer runs fine is Safe mode then a third party application is causing the problem. Its likely a file thats needed wasnt closed properly when Windows went into hibernation and then once it was deleted the process can no longer run correctly. If thats the case...disable your start up items and then start loading them back in one by one to catch the bad one. There is also a Application section in the Event Viewer you could check regarding the error.

I would recommend running a Chkdsk on the hard drive. Enter SafeMode before you do this.
1. Double click "My computer".
2. Right click on the "C" drive and select "Properties".
3. Select the "Tools" tab and then the "Check Now..." option.
4. Make sure "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" are checked, and click "Start". You may get a prompt stating "The disk check could not be performed because the disk check utility needs exclusive access to some Windows files on the disk. These files can be accessed only by restarting Windows. Do you want to schedule this disk check to occur the next time you restart the computer?" You'll want to click "Yes" and restart the computer.
5. Once Windows starts to load, the Disk Check will start... It shouldn't take very long, and it may find errors... If it does, it'll attempt to fix them and that should solve the HDD problem.
Another thing to do is find out who makes the hard drive that's in your computer and go to their website to see if there are any custom Hard Disk diagnostic utilities that you can use to see if there are any problems with the disk. If it does detect problems, you may want to consider backing up all of your data and replacing the disk. A lot of times Hard Drives aren't very considerate in letting you know when they're about to die. :)
