Ok I can't say for sure cuz the system I'm using to check it is W2k on a domain, so I don't have actual user accounts on my machine, but try this:
Regedit (I assume you know how to get there, if not, Start/Run, type regedit)

HKEY_USERS\*USERNAME*\Software\Microsoft\Internet Exporer\Main\Default_Page_URL

That key should contain the homepage's URL... If not, try changing the "Main" part for "5.0"
