Your ethernet should work, only rare and obscure ones dont - and none that I know of, as far as DSL goes note your windows settings, and if you have a username and password.

If its UK (blueyonder) you need to use the "@HOME" settings, so supply a hostname "PC-nn-nn-nn-nn@blueyonder.co.uk" to ask for your IP, and copy DNS and default gateway settings manually, after that youll never want to switch back to windows - ever !
