software needed

I just recently partitioned my primary hard drive in 2 halves. one with Windows ME for the kids....and the other with SuSE Linux 8.1. Recently we swiched from dial-up to DSL. The tech that set up the adapter only had config software for Windows. Is there a website where I can download the necessary software to configure Linux OS to work with the ethernet adapter ( assuming the adapter make is compatible) ?
