![]() Gen parad0x It's a pretty positive experience. If you're not really a unix freak, OS X is a very gentle introduction to UNIX. At first you don't even need to know there is a UNIX underneath all the layers of beautiful and intuitive GUI, but as you get more into the BSD underneath the hood you can quickly have every bit the *nix box everyone else uses. It's really quite neat. Mac laptops also have outstanding wireless support and good power management. The iBook gets great battery life, usually around 4 hours of practical use. It's one of the few small, lightweight laptops I know of that can play a full DVD from battery and still have enough juice to do things (depending on the DVD length, of course). iBooks are much cheaper now-a-days too. I own one, and it's great. Just make SURE to get at least 256 megs of ram in those suckers. OS X is a ram-hungry OS. Good luck on whatever you choose.
