The recent thread reminded me about a problem I have myself, although it's not necessary, it would help me in the future, from running my ircd on my gateway

the problem is this, I have a thirdparty portfowarder enabled on my 2k box ( my gateway for now ) and my slackware box is running an ircd, now anyone that connects via my gateway to the ircd, basically is a clone of everyone else ( the entail the ip addy of my gateway ) is there anyway around this?

If you don't understand what i'm talking about ( and i dno't blame you, neither do I :P ) here's an example:

Gateway 223.150.152.1 (net ip == 211.16.25.12 ----- Slack 223.150.152.2 ( running Ircd)

now anyone that connects to my ircd, holds the gateways net ip.

=\

So what do I need? Is the portfowarded just shit... ? or do I need to set routing or something.. ?

Any idea's appreciated :) I mean it would be nice to be able to ban an ip range, without banning my gateway , and everyone else on the network for that matter :D
