I noticed in one of your earlier posts that you talk about playing games and watching DVDs etc. All this is possible on Linux but please understand that while things are moving forward, Linux is not quite as 'multimedia' capable as Windows at this point. Portioning blame for all this stuff is a whole other topic, but despite what many Linux people will tell you, it is not quite as good as Windows for multimedia, and MS office is still a bit better from a usability perspective than Open Office.

That said... Linux is far and away a better platform for any kind of serious computing, and it is passable as a media platform, but hasn't quite caught up with windows just yet.
