1) What are acceptable file system types for Win 98, and for Win 3.1? Like, I know that FAT 16 is ok, but which type of FAT 16 (e.g. "DOS FAT-16 (<32M)", "DOS FAT-16", "FAT-16 LBA", "HIDDEN FAT-16 (<32M)" etc.)?

2) What are all the File System IDs (e.g. 0x01, 0x15, xF0), what are the differences between them, what OSes can handle what IDs, and how do different file systems work, in general?

I've been searching around for quite some time and haven't come up with much of an answer. Any thoughts?
