Theyve had versions that boot of cd's for best part of a year now. Its a nice thing to have so you can take your favorite OS with you wherever you go.

On another note, i think that a graphical installer is stupid. There are plenty of other graphical install based distributions out there. There is a thread about it on the forums actually: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=243495&highlight=gui+installer
