I have a old 233 that has slackware 9.0 on it.

A labtop with WinXP on it that uses a wireless card to connect to the internet.

I want to know if I can use the ethernet cable to connect the desktop(running slackware9.0) to the labtop(running winxp) and be able to connect to the internet from the desktop.

I have asked alot of people about this and many say it can be done using the the Bridge Connections, I have gone through the windows help files as well. But when i bridge the 2 connections together. My wireless goes down...

Also - shouldnt I be able to get into the system when im connected to it via ethernet cable?

I mean WinXP sees that im connected to it. i can even view the name of the system but nothing from the nix side of it happens....

hmm btw the hardware talk is kinda new to me so forgive me if i have spelled some things wrong ;

thanks.)
