When i'm too lazy to go around to computers at home, but PC Anywhere is a good product to use for remote use from what i've heard, check out PCAnywhere and see what you think of it yourself, prolly the safer alternative, but you need to dialup to your PC for it to work, so whether or not that is possible i don't know, but it's always another option.

You could try a VPN client to server if that's practical, but that's usually if your home PC is the client.
