i'll take a couple blind stabs here - have been working on a similarly-equipped HP laptop with Gentoo, here's what works for me:

Video - generic vesa driver works, but to enable DRI, needed patches to kernel and CVS version of X - see here for details. this method detects and configures the synaptics touchpad, though, so it's worth a shot.

Audio - Trident kernel module works, though only through the headphone jack - not sure what to do about the onboard speakers.

Onboard Net - National Semiconductors kernel module.

haven't really tried anything else significant, though, only have enough going to get the thing working. will be working on power and PCMCIA in the indefinite future; if i figure out anything, i'll let you know.
