ATI cards in linux

what have people's experiences been with putting 9600s and 9800s into linux boxes?

I am setting up a new rig for video editing, and as I will be using some form of win to run the necessary adobe stuff i.e. I will be dual booting - probably with SuSe (as they have taken video for linux seriously) and debian or gentoo.

So any gentoo and SuSe ATI experiences?
