This is due to burning software that you have installed and the drive you have your discs in/if the discs are burnt.

If they are originals, the should work fine regardless of what drive you put them in, however, if they are copied games they don't tend to install in XP if you're running them from a burner. Try installing CloneCD and checking the Hide CD-R media option in the tray menu. After doing this try both a burner and another drive, if you have them.

Basically what happens with Clone is it 'masks' the fact that the disc is copied and windows doesn't see a problem with continuing. I had this problem when installing Battlefield 1942 and installing Clone seemed to work fine for me.
