I just installed Linux RedHat 9.0 for the first time, selected the 'workstation' install (as I will use it mainly for development and a bit of networking stuff) however I have a problem.

Everything is really slow - when I move the mouse, it moves for 2-3 seconds then I have to wait a min to move it again. If I open a menu it takes 20+ seconds to open, then whin I click on an option it takes 1 min+ to open.

It is installed on a Pentium 666MHz with 256MB RAM.

I am presuming this is a memory problem of some sort, although MDK8.1 and 9.0 worked fine on the same computer before.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Preferably to do with the OS rather than updateing processor or something, but all suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Tach
