i haven't had much luck with my pcmcia wireless card on my laptop with slackware for 3 weeks now. 1st card i tried was wpc54g, now i'm with wpc11 ver4 << sux, anyway, i use wireless usb adapter on my desktop.
try doing an ifconfig to set your ip address.
ifconfig wlan0 10.0.1.2

then add the gateway

route add default gw 10.0.1.1

might help, might not. good luck

what sucks about wpc11 ver4 is that it's not a linksys chipset, it's a realtek 8139 chipset. check your version number and go from there.

Linux does recognize the card (is assigned eth1) and it is connecting with the base station (iwconfig returns the base station hardware address) but its like it can't get the IP from the dhcp server or something. I have to play with it some more I guess. The card is a linksys WPC11 pluged into a linksys WDT11.
ok, so i got banned from cyberarmy, who fucking cares? :\
