I don't know much about using that card, but I've had similar problems with my Radeon 7000 PCI card. If this is a PCI card, you may have to enter a line in the /etc/XF86Config (may be /etc/X11/XF86Config) file under the Device section for your video card containing the following line: Option "ForcePCIMode" "true" If this isn't a PCI card, or the above fix doesn't work, try using the VESA driver next time. The VESA driver is like an "OH SHIT!!! My Video Card isn't supported!!!!" driver. It works on just about everything. The down side to using the VESA driver, you don't have any acceleration support, but unless you plan to do 3d modeling or gaming, you really won't notice it that much. You'll still get all the same amount of colors and the same resolutions. On 2003-07-16 22:45:33, Austin wrote >I already run windows xp and am trying to run mandrake 9.1 on another partition. I got through the installation fine, everything is pretty easy but when I actually try to boot mandrake up there is a problem. I choose linux in the bootloader and it appears to be loading up, there are a series of tasks w/ accompanying "ok"s but when it appears that its done nothing happens. The screen just goes blank, no prompt, no nothing. Ctrl-Alt-F1 does nothing and all I can do to get out of it is to restart. I have a geforce4 mx440-se vid card, are there any known issues with that and mandrake? >Please help Lt.
