Ker SamSpade

Ok, I can't get my wireless network to work for some reason on my Mandrake 9.1 box. The thing is that it is a desktop that uses a pcmcia network card adapter (all linksys) I set everything up with SSID and WEP KEY and when I run iwconfig it has the access point address and everything but when I run ifup eth1 it can't get an IP address. Anyone have any ideas?
