VMWare Tools Question

Due to some recent HD problems, I have decided to run my Linux distro (Slackware 9) inside f a virtual machine. Everything has went okay with the VMWare Tools install, right up until I get to this:


What is the directory that contains the init directories (rc0.d/ to rc6.d/)?

Now, I really don't know what the problem is, but I type /etc and it gives the following error

The path "/etc" is a directory that does not contain a rc0.d directory

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I don't know WTF I am missing or doing wrong. Maybe it's just cause i'm tired as fsck, but this shit is giving me a headache.
