for the benefit of those among us (and i know we're out there) who aren't overly familiar with it, what makes BSD different from linux (or other UNIX derivatives, for that matter)? i know this is an overly general question, but presenting the information might help everyone here to become more familiar with each OS and their respective pros/cons.

just hoping that it might provoke a good informational discussion in here, and help to drum up some activity for your site/channel. :)
