Red Hat 7.3 help ?!? |

![]() Tr lauderdale I am currently running a dual boot system with WinXP and RH 7.3. My Linux kernal version is: 2.4.18-3 My PC came with a WinModem (COM1) so I downloaded the Linmodem driver: ltmodem-kv_2.4.18_3-8.22a3-1.i686.rpm I booted up Linux | logged in as root | opened the command shell | and typed: rpm -Uvh ltmodem-kv_2.4.18_3-8.22a3-1.i686.rpm I will not even bother to paste in the typescript results but it said all was well. I opened up my 'Internet configuration wizard (Gnome)' and attempted to activate the modem. It wont dial!?! I contacted my ISP and I have all my info correct. I reopen the command shell and try to reinstall the modem driver. It will tell me the device is already loaded?!? Has anyone else had this problem? I had it up and running in the past with no problems. Any tips or help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Take it easy, Dave Lauderdale Replies:
