Linux & USB modem... |
||
![]() Tr h3rald Well, I have Mandrake Linux 9.0 on my computer, in a dual boot with Windows 2000 AS (don't ask why)... The thing is that I have an USB ADSL Modem (Ericsson HM120dp), and it is obviosly not supported by linux (as most USB modems I bet)... OK, I eventually found the UserMode drivers for it, and succesfully configured it... it worked for about one month. Then suddenly a problem occurred: either it gave me some sort of "connection failed" error, or after using the command startmodem to run it, it said it was "connected". Fine, but it seems NOT to be connected, since I can't browse or do anything requires a connection. Even if on the console it says it is "connected", it is not, according to any other aplication I use. Why? I also tried to uninstall the drivers, and start again from the beginning... I also get some new synchSOMETHING.bin file appropriate for my area... I configured the modem correctly... it even says the connection is successful, as I said, on the console, but actually it's not... any idea??!!!
