![]() Tr FOIA Defnitiv answer: you do not NEED a GUI, but you'll see that many things are more comfortable with a windowmanager, especially if you're new to linux and are familiar with windows. Reasons why your KDE didn't worked: - the X server wasn't properly installed - the wrong X server was installed - the X server wasn't configured properly - the configuration was stored to a bogus location and the X server is calling a default .config - missing lib's (check dependancies) and I guess the list could become even longer.. a errorlog or description would help and some information on the distribution you use. regards, FOIA On 2003-04-07 18:33:20, Vivacious Demon wrote >I am setting up linux... and for whatever reason KDE won't install...
