Tr mrlount

Hello, I'm normally a Linux user so I need some windows people help here.
I have two laptops, a compaq and an acer, both come with their own windows cdrom. I have lost my acer windows disk and so would like to install the compaq windows. However the install checks the computer and says that it will only install on my compaq.
Is there any way I can install this compaq windows on my acer?
Anyone got any helpful links?
