I work and own a movie editing company so I use

FinalCut -mac-

Also I work on

Adobe Premiere Elements (windows)
Adobe Premiere Pro (windows & Mac)

I worked on ulead video studio 11 too, it works good as well and I do believe that visual studio can do what you need and you do not need any more advanced video editing.

I heard of Pinnacle - http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Home/ website - though never worked on it.
