Anyone do much Video Editing? What programs do you use?

I was using Ulead VideoStudio for all my editing as it works great for what I need - Multi-trim, split audio/add music/adjust volumes, some decent effects, and many options for saving in different formats.
Then I use DVD-Lab Pro for my DVD Authoring - it rocks.

But, my problem now is that my Ulead VideoStudio has quit working, and I'm wondering before I look too much into it, does anyone use something else (that's not WAY too much for what I need)? I typically work with MPEG video files, and as long as I can cut out scenes and split scenes, and add music/adjust volumes and save to 720x420 (iirc) in MPEG and save mpa audio files - I'm happy.
