Does it give any more information in the error? Most of the trouble with this script seems to come from them being hosted on servers which dont have the nessecary perl modules installed (IO::Socket) for example.
For a start, check your error logs and see what they say. Also, change the first line to #!/usr/bin/perl -Ww Which is effectly debug mode.
