    Here is what i did:
    I downloaded the java platform
    went to the irc page
    waited for it to load
    something popped up about signing it, i pressed always(i'm on firefox)
    waited a little longer
    got to the consol then all of a sudden this came up:

    <----Start Message---->
    A Security error occurred while connecting to host 'irc.cyberarmy.net:6667'.

    This could have happened because of the following reasons:

    1) The administrator of this website did not configure this applet properly.
    2) Your Java security settings are above the normal level
    3) You are the administrator, and are trying to connect to a server which it is not allowed to. Did you *sign* the applet?

    This error is most easily solved by reading the documentation, and understanding the configuration file.
    <----End Message---->

      The jIRC applet is pretty convinient most of the time, when it works. If you're really interested in chatting on IRC though, I'd suggest downloading an IRC client and using that. There is a pretty popular one at www.mirc.com and there is also a tutorial on how to connect to the cyberarmy server.

      http://www.cauniversity.org/files/CAIRCfaq.php

      There is another better tutorial somewhere, but I can't locate it at the moment. Hopefully someone will stumble upon this thread and post the link to it. :)

      It won;t help the jIRC issue, but it'll get you on IRC nevertheless. Peace
