mIRC problems

i connect to the irc.cyberarmy.com (6667) server from my school comp but i have a firewall preventing me getting through. I put my username, password etc in the options menu so i could possibly connect but it still wouldnt. i might be out of credit but would you know anything that would be stoping it working?
