As far as IRC goes it could be that someone with the same hostmask as you was causing trouble so the entire hostmask was Klined. As far as I'm aware the IRC Net Staff tries to stay away from banning hostmasks as much as they can, but in some cases it's the only way to protect our network and keep us safe :)
You can contact any IRCOP in relation to this, and they can fix the problem for you. Or if you would rather you can go to cairc.net and use the email form on there.
