  Beta Tr nikkitracks Ah, but getting a Core 2 Duo will mean getting another motherboard, possibly new RAM etc etc. Having said that, you're going to see a maximum of 5% - 10% improvement in speed going from 2.8GHz single core to 3GHz dual core with the old P4 cores; I'd suggest that it's really not worth it. You do usually see a benefit in games, even if the game itself isn't multithreaded - usually through the second CPU taking care of background OS tasks. Replies:
