You know...same thing ;] lol. Sorry about the typo and confusing the heck out of you bud. Yes, I've tried removing the DVD Burner, rebooting, then reinstalling the DVD Burner, also tried different IDE cables. I looked around the Microsoft knowledgebase and I found a problem that suited the description exactly:

However this has already been patched with SP2 as the website says, and I confirmed this with a Microsoft support agent. So, that's one idea down the drain... it did make me check whether I had SP2 installed though. ;]

Out of ideas.
