![]() 2nd Lt agentmike hi you could put the HDD in the Windows XP machine and boot to windows XP and read any files off the drive that you would like to use or copy over before wiping the drive sound about the only way to make the drive work right again but then again you can just use the drive as a sec storage device and store files on it. the only problem is that you wont be able to boot the hard drive up on a XP designed machine because windows 98 does not run good on XP hardware.
