ok, so a couple years back i was uninstalling any programs i didn't need from my old computer. i uninstalled this one (i forget what it was called, but it didn't look like something from windows) and the computer hasn't worked right since. it boots into windows (windows 98) normally, but at the login screen it doesn't have the users and an error comes up saying there's an error in explorer.exe and it has to close. i had just gotten a new computer at the time, so i didn't pay much attention but now i'm trying to set it back up without much success. i tried putting the HD in my other old 98 as a slave to see if i could fix it from that, but it didnt recognize the HD. i tried booting from the 98 CD and a boot disk, but neither worked. the only thing i haven't tried is putting it in my new XP because i don't want to take chances with ruining it. is there any way i can fix it (with putting it in my XP as a last resort)?
