windows xp ram question |

![]() ![]() Beta LtKer silverknight I was fixing up a old Windows ME computer earlier today and saw that by placing your own min & max virtual memory settings helped speed up the computer greatly. It currently had 256 Ram and I place the min at 256 and the max at 640(2.5). I was curious if thats a good thing to do to simply help boost the performance levels on computers. I have windows xp on my laptop at home and Im kinda curious if its okay to do this type of thing on a computer... Also, on the ME it lists the RAM as only 255 instead of 256 like it really is? Any reason? thanks. Replies:
