![]() 2nd Lt whirlwind If the Video Adapter was working correctly, and correctly connected to your display device, it would display POST information during its "Power On Self Test", the result of a failled "POST" is a series of beeps, the pattern indicates the nature of the fault, which is also displayed on the screen. Therefore either the CPU is overheating immediately on power up, and screaming thru the system speaker before it overheats and shuts down, or the video card has failed during initialisation - hence no message on screen. If your machine is over 12 months old - replace all the cooling fans, and clean it using an air duster or similar. An AGP video card might have become unseated - these are much more sensitive to vibration & movement than PCI cards, and are often glued to their sockets. - check.
