If you dislocated youd cd tray, manual traylock open won't work. Disassemble the drive if the warranty is due. If it's not you better take it to repairs. Opening the drive is not really a big deal, just be sure not to mess with it too much and cover the laser lens immediately as you open the drive with something like a Coca-cola bottle cup. Make sure it doesn't touch the lens! This is to prevent dust and your fingerprints on the lens, which is the most sensitive part of the drive. You don't have a clean room so you have to do it quick. Technical sense and knowledge of mechanics and electronics help a lot there. Look at the tray rails and make sure the tray is on them. It is very important to examine and see if the tray sensors are in place and not damaged(there are at least two-three of them).if something is broken, try to figure out where it was and glue it in place with Cyanacrilate-based glue. Make sure you let it dry properly(important) and remove any excess glue with sharp scalpel and proper sandpaper. Make sure the glued part don't interfere with normal drive functions. Don't leave any glue traces and wear latex gloves during all your work. If you have to leave the drive open to let the glue dry, take out the glued part and let it dry separately, and put the rest of your work in the airtight bag. IMPORTANT!! Take extensive, detailed notes during all your work, and draw the location of every screw and every part to make sure you can put it back together. All your disassemlicng work must be inside some kind of tray to make sure you won't lose any small parts( drive may contain springs...photo tray maybe? Best thing there would be one of those bio-isolated boxes with gloves, but who has them at home? lol) Whatever you do, don't power up the drive until you assembled it completely!!! You can easily cause severe eye damage if you do. Double-check all your work and have fun. Good luck.
I repaired three out of four cd/cdrw that way, the one that i failed to fix had a burnt-out logic circuits, and was as old as I am anyway :)
P.S. Don't light your workspace too much as some electronics inside may be light sensitive. The oiling of the tray rails can be done with chemically-clean paraffine. I use the clear/white one from medical store...i don't want to know what they use it for but it looks like it's the closest you can get to manufacturer's factory stuff.
