This debate is getting long in the tooth. As sw noted and i confirmed, i was addressing THIS comment by you: "Sorry guy but what Tr cianid3 wrote is completely correct." I didnt not address anything else you suggested nor do i really care to. The original post, by Fu (who oddly enough has had not one comment on things), had a blatent misconception in the subject and I thought it necessary to correct it before Fantasy possibly ruined his drive. Since his concern is not with saving data, I dont see how anything short of runing the disk could cause hard, so I have no desire to read what you or anyone else suggested. Wether its a good or bad idea really wont have any impact on wether he ruins his hardware. SW seems to think your idea was excellent, so it probably cant be all that bad. The topic is rather trivial imho and only the drama has kept my attention. Being I never once addressed any of your other comments I really dont see how you could possibly think I was attacking them. Really sounds like to me that you are just trying to deter the topic at hand and try to deny being not only the fact that you were incorrect about the subject of low level formatting, but also in fueling the debate. *shrug* tF On 2003-05-22 20:38:06, knet wrote >>Knet's solution i barely glanced over. > >Yes: and actually fips and fdisk may be of great help. >Whatever a low level format may really mean: I am not an eglish native. Next time read everything before insulting someone. (I think I am not alone: cianid3, FOIA, darkroot, flamebalrog and probably some others are on your list). > >You are so good and clever: >so apart from not doing a low level format, what has TO BE DONE ? >
