The problem mate is that someone should learn the very basics before venturing into deep water. Assuming hurts, but still, if you want someone to learn, you have to give him/her the basics then learn the restrictions. i.e. teach someone to divide, then tell him that he/she is unable to divide by zero. Don't teach him at the very first moment cause you are going to confuse the person a lot.

C99 defines a long long int which iirc is 80 bytes long. Hmm... teach that to a person that does not have any programming experience. And you will confuse him a lot. Wait for the upcoming articles and you will see... :)
