Welcome to the BCoord's Corner. Hopefully everyone is still hanging on to those resolutions as we begin our 2nd month of 2006. January has been a busy month, and we're looking forward to the same this month.

CAU has a new Commander. Congrats and welcome to Mar Ikioi. To begin with, he has moved CAU to http://university.cyberarmy.net and will update the site soon. Next, he has named Ker PixieLuv and Cpt knoledgesponge as CAU's X/Os. Congrats to them as well. Together with the CAU team they have already begun to review solutions to problems that have plagued Classes and Testing. They would also like to encourage everyone to get involved in one or two of the CAU /projects in order to help build your CA University into a realistic educational entity.

TPC has been hard at it working to implement a new feature called Your Voice! Your Voice! will be a database for identifying and contacting government representatives in order to express your opinions and concerns DVon various issues. Join the /project to help build this database. In addition, PC Watch isn't getting the credit it deserves. It's turned into an excellent ePublication and that /project allows for everyone to get involved as well.

SAS has released the 24th edition of zZine. They have consistently provided concentrated information about CA in one place. And as they continue to grow, zZine is offering more professional articles on a wider scale of topics that anyone can participate in. SAS has also created the zZine Podcasting /project which will definitely compliment zZine. Another great project recently created is the Recruit Guidance Project. As CA's membership continues to grow, this project is aimed at helping new members understand and find a place in the community.

OSI continues to bring out the GEEK in all of us and this time they're doing it with the first GEEK Article Contest. It's a great way to submit those articles you haven't gotten around to yet, and win a little something. They have also begun working on the OSI Projects System, which is similar to SourceForge; it will host source code and provide management tools and communication for open source development projects for internal and public use.

I peeked in on SOS and saw that they are busy as well and are near completing NetNose, a C-based packet analyzer. They are also working on a Firefox extension toolbar known as CACC and have created an Auditing Group which is an expansion of RACAT. A fourth project is planned, so keep your eyes open.

You'll also notice that several CA-wide projects have also been moved over to the /projects system. In addition to those, new ones have spring up. So /projects is well under way. We've seen some great ideas generated as a result of this new feature. As more projects are created and existing projects are evaluated, we'll begin to solicit ideas and suggestions to improve the system. Many of you have submitted Feedback that has already resulted in modifications. Keep the feedback coming.

Remember that Brigade Coordinators are available, so feel free to contact us if we can be of any assistance.
