Email Notification: This was a request to be emailed when you: 1) receive a cMS, 2) a user joins your brigade, or 3) in response to a forum post. This will not be implemented at this time. It is commonly felt that when a user checks email, they are likely to come to CA.net if they are active. Additionally, this would quickly become an annoying feature for those regularly using the site. The CyberArmy Command Center provides a toolbar that checks for cMS's which users may find useful.
List of Members: We received a suggestion to make a public list of recent sign-ups to CyberArmy. Providing such a list could be considered an invasion of privacy as well as leaving open the possibility of unnecessary harassment of new users by recruitment officers. This particular idea has been tried before in CyberArmy, and it did not prove to be beneficial. Therefore, this feature will probably not be implemented.
Brigade XML Feeds: It was suggested that an XML feed for the CyberArmy Brigades section would be beneficial for satellite sites. This feature will be implemented, but it has been given a low priority at this time.
Automatic Redirection: A user suggested redirecting members to the inbox folder after deleting a cMS. Due to the existence of multiple folders, this could redirect you to a different folder than the one you composed from. As such, the folder navigation menu has been added to that page instead.
cMS Folders: We received a request to indicate the number of unread messages in each cMS folder by adding the number in brackets beside each folder in the 'Go To:' selection menu. It has been decided that this will not be implemented, as new messages always go to the inbox folder. Therefore, any unread messages in other folders have been seen, and we would suggest using the 'sticky' functionality rather than 'unread' to keep important messages easy to locate.
Other/Miscellaneous
- HTTPS cert expired: This has now been fixed.
Report A Bug
- Checking Tool not Working: The Activity Checking Tool link in the brigade coordination forum has now been fixed.
- BBcode in CA Headlines: BBcode was displaying in the CA Headlines, rather than being stripped as it should be. This specifically was an issue with the color, code and url tags. A fix for this will be implemented shortly.
- 500 Errors on cMS Search: The cMS search was producing 500 Internal Server Errors when searching only in the message or subject. This has now been fixed.
- Update Message Search: The cMS search needed to be updated to allow customized folders to be searched. Additionally, the search now remembers all aspects of the search query.
- CA Files images shown incorrectly: This issue has been raised previously. CA Files images were being stretched when displayed via files/view/. Large pictures used to mean you had to scroll sideways (which was annoying), so we introduced width="100%" which now makes smaller pictures look wrong. This has now been fixed. Images are displayed in their original size unless this size is greater than the available space, in which case, the image is scaled down.
- Security Forum - Outdated MOTD: The security forum Message of The Day contained an outdated link which has now been updated.
- /files// directory navigation error: In the top directory of /files/ the '../' link was displayed, which would take you to 'files//' and break any further navigation in that section. This has now been fixed (the link has been removed as it is not relevant in that directory).
- Login Bug: Recently a bug was reported indicating problems logging in to the CyberArmy site after a password change. The bug was traced to an issue using certain special characters in a password. A fix for this has now been implemented.
